To our Dear Customers,
Welcome to the King Farm catalog of 2020.
It is an honor to take over writing this cover letter, as you all may remember last year Barbara King handed over the reins and she is now enjoying a very well deserved retirement.
2019 was another great year, however it certainly came with its challenges. We had to say good bye and good luck to Richard Ward our head grower as he moved south to enjoy a much warmer climate. Since his departure Christy King has moved into the head grower’s position. Christy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from UMass and an Associate Degree from Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Christy and the King Farm team have been working tirelessly to produce the quality products we are known for. With perseverance comes great rewards, as they say!
King Farm is a family business and we know full well what challenges this brings. For that reason we DO NOT sell to big box stores. King Farm supports and certainly appreciates our customers and their family businesses. We pride ourselves on this fact as we are approached many times from these entities and hold steadfast to our belief that small business is the life blood of our communities. That’s what keeps us coming in every day working our hardest to grow the best plants for the market.
2020 will be a very interesting year. With fewer growers in the market we are fine tuning our product line to make sure we have enough of the right things at the right time. For instance our production of Pansy hangers (which we added the Cool Wave Series too), 806 pansy trays, bowls, and ovals will be increased dramatically. Our new combination hangers will be an easy sale at Mother’s Day, Please check the website for our updated hanging combinations! We have also added a line of 6.5” combination pots filled with annuals sure to delight your customers. Our 4” accent and herbs are always a big hit so we have made more room for them, adding more benches of these will certainly help with getting what you order on the trucks. Will be adding to our full line of 806 annual and vegetable numbers with the help of our new transplanting machine. These are just a few of the changes we have coming your way in 2020.
As always we welcome you our customer to come to the farm and see our facility and all that happens here at any time. We are always happy to show you around and listen to what you’re needing to build your business.
Let the sun shine down on all of us in 2020.
Wishing you Happy Sales in 2020!
